CASAs of San Diego - Chaldean American Student Association

The Chaldean American Student Association or CASA for short is a non-profit organization which was founded in order to support and recognize scholarship and academic achievement, community involvement, and the development of a bond of friendship among its members. Its Aim is the advancement of educational success in the Chaldean community through the promotion and support of educational excellence, Chaldean tradition, Chaldean heritage, and Chaldean history. This is achieved by encouraging and emphasizing; educational support, educational collaboration, educational discipline, exposure of educational resources, promotion of educational success, community support, and community service.

The organization was first created in Detroit, MI; a city that currently holds the largest population of Chaldeans in the United States. In 2008, the first San Diego chapter of the organization was created at San Diego State University (SDSU). In 2009, a chapter of CASA was created at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). In 2010, two chapters of CASA were created: one at the University of San Diego (USD) and the other at El Cajon Valley High School. San Deigo, CA currently holds the 2nd largest population of Chaldeans in the US; most of whom live in El Cajon, CA. In hopes of promoting our cultural heritage and creating more chapters of the organization in San Diego, CASA and it's supporters and affiliates hope to reach out to all of the educational establishments in the greater San Diego area.
